Health Visitors
Health Visitors are all trained nurses who have extra training and qualifications in child health. They are a fantastic source of information about child development and health, parenting strategies, breastfeeding, nutrition and community support. They also offer help with social, emotional and environmental issues that affect families. Please contact a member of the Health Visiting Team for further information on 01651 871530. Health visitors are available Mon-Wed 9am-4.30pm and Thu-Fri 9am-2pm.
Child health checks
Non-urgent advice: If your child is unwell
Please do not bring ill children to this clinic.
Appointments are sent out automatically by our local Health Board for routine child health checks.
The first will be with a GP at the surgery when your baby is around 6 weeks old. You will be sent information about this and asked to make an appointment at your local clinic or practice.
You will also be offered routine health reviews for your child, with your health visitor, at 6-8 weeks, 8-12 months and 2-2½ years old.
Child Immunisations
Immunisations are given by Healthcare professionals in accordance with the NHS vaccine schedule.

The practice believes it is very important to ensure that all children are immunised against all potentially serious illnesses.
Immunisation Clinics
Primary immunisation clinic: Every Tuesday morning 9-12am
Year old Immunisation clinic: Every 2nd and 4th Tuesday from 1pm – 3pm
Pre-School booster clinic: Once every three months, on the 2nd Thursday of June, September, December and March.
Fyvie
Primary immunisation clinic: Every 2nd and 3rd Monday of each month 9am – 11.50am
Year old Immunisation clinic: Every 4th Monday from 9.am – 11.50 am.
Pre-School booster clinic: Clinic every three months.
Please note our practice nurses do not give these immunisations. If you are unable to attend your given day or appointment please let the practice know and we will pass on your details to the Health Visiting team.

Hearing tests for children
Routine hearing tests are offered to newborn babies and children to identify any problems early on in their development.
Although serious hearing problems during childhood are rare, early testing ensures that any problems are picked up and managed as early as possible.
