Non-urgent advice: COVID-19 Update

Throughout the pandemic we have strived to make the surgery as safe as possible for all our patients and staff. We will continue to do so going forward.

From the 19th July Scotland moves into Level 0 but nothing will change at the surgery – patients will still need to wear a mask, socially distance and use hand sanitiser in the surgery and staff will continue to wear PPE. We do understand that it can be frustrating but we know that when people come to us they are sick and vulnerable (and some cannot receive the covid vaccinations due to medical reasons) so we feel it would be wrong to not take these small precautions that can protect people.

In terms of opening up, as many of you know, we have never been shut and in fact have consulted with much higher numbers of patients than we did pre-covid (face to face, by phone and by video).

The Fyvie / Oldmeldrum Community has come so far in trying to minimise the impact of Covid and we are sure you understand that we need to keep the surgery as safe for ALL patients as we can.

Thank you

#StaySafe

Why are GP Practices still working differently? – More Information

The practice is closed from 6.00pm until 8.00am on weekdays and from 6.00pm Friday until 8.00am on Monday. During these times we cannot deal with routine matters so please do not telephone for appointments, tests results etc.

Outwith normal working hours telephone services are provided by NHS 24 and medical services are provided by GMED.
Tel: 08454 242424

If you require urgent medical attention at any time please telephone the normal surgery number. If the practice is closed you will hear an answering machine giving you the number to telephone NHS 24. Please have a pen and paper ready and listen to the message carefully. You will be able to speak to a trained nurse about your problem. She may give advice over the telephone to enable you to deal with your problem. Alternatively she will contact GMED about you. If you need to be seen to receive medical attention you will be invited to attend a GMED centre where you will be seen by an on call doctor, paramedic or nurse practitioner. If your medical condition prevents you attending the centre, then you will be visited at home.

You may wish to note that all telephone contacts with NHS 24 and GMED are recorded.
